 Mission Statement

Our cooperative is dedicated to promote the mutual welfare and interests of log truck operators throughout the States of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. Our membership consists of operators in every county in Western Washington plus many counties in Eastern Washington, as well as many members in Idaho, and Montana.

We desire our members to work cooperatively with northwestern logging contractors AND to educate timberland owners and logging contractors about the increasing costs we are facing and the need to fairly and adequately compensate the drivers who haul their products to mills and market. Higher hauling fees equal safer log trucks !

Cascade Chapter Meeting

June 7th

The meeting was opened by the president Lance Hamilton and the minutes from the last meeting was read by Frank Slyter and approved. Talked about the price break from the fuel program and how it was doing Mike stated it was doing very well. Bill Street from IAMAW was given the floor and discussed the up coming Bill in the State of Washington also stated we needed to start contacting our State Representatives and County Commissioners to get them involved. We have time to get this done this year so lets get off our butts and get it done this is not only left up to the board we all need to work on this. Most of the members think the board is going to do everything but it is up to all of us. I know i hear all of the time what is the Co-op doing for us and it is about time you get involved and do your part . If you do not think the Northwest Log Truckers Co-op have done anything, just look at your pay check and do a little figuring. If it where not for the Co-op you would not be getting the fuel surcharge and the increase you are getting now you would be getting 1986 money and how long could you have lasted  with $ 5.00 a Gallon Fuel .It can get better so lets get moving and start attending the meetings. We will have your State Representatives and county Commissioners  names address and emails phone numbers on the web soon. Fact everybody is getting  a different fuel surcharge you should know what you are getting and make sure you get it because if you are no getting it someone is and penney's can make a difference with the price of fuel.

Washington Log Truck Study

As most of you know, the Washington State legislature voted in the 2007 session to allocate monies for a study on the health of  the log hauling industry in our state. This was accomplished thru the efforts of the N.W. Log Truckers CO-OP of Washington and Senator Hargrove. The survey will soon reach your mail box. Your input  is essential in filling out this survey accurately and completely  It is the most important tool the legislature is going to have to base any and all changes  within our industry on. We ask that you take the time to please fill this survey out, whether you are a CO-OP of Washington member or not. This is your chance to make a difference.  Thank you.

The study will be posted as soon as it received from the University of Washington

Update as of 05/16/08

A very low rate of returns have came in, approximately 20% have taken their time to fill out and return their information. So if you have not sent your study in at this time do so now - complete or not, it is very important.  They are still taking the study's. Make it count, with out your participation this will not work
